Breast enlargement (or augmentation) is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. Dr. Sadati gives his patients their choice of incisions: either under the breast, around the edge of the areola, or under the arm.
For some women, they may not need breast augmentation, but rather a breast lift or ‘Mastopexy’. A Mastopexy is done in order to fix ptosis (sagging of the breasts). Sagging of the breast can be caused by having multiple pregnancies, weight gain or loss, or gravity taking its toll on the breast tissue. (See “Mommy Makeovers”). For some men, they too can have this same complaint, but for men, it’s called having male breast reduction or ‘Gynecomastia’. This procedure will lift their chest and get rid of the excess skin and excess fat.
