The brow and the forehead are often the first region to show signs of aging. Heaviness and drooping of the eyebrows can give us a tired and sometimes angry look. Drooping of the eyebrows also produce heaviness of the upper eyelids which is a result of pulling down of the lower edge of the brow to the upper eyelashes. In addition, there is 'hooding' of the outer corners of the eyes, caused by drooping of the skin underneath the outer edge of the eyebrows. Heavy or droopy brows can give a tired and angry appearance to the face.
As the eyebrows sag, it requires effort to keep them from blocking our vision, which causes deep horizontal creases to appear on the forehead. Repeated frowning can also cause deep vertical creases to form between the eyebrows. Sagging of the skin in the corners of the brow increases the appearance of the crows feet.
Brow lifts can improve sagging and wrinkled foreheads or eyebrows that hang too low and too close to the eyes. Sagging usually accompanies frown lines between the eyebrows. Brow lifts create a more youthful, rested appearance to the forehead and upper eyelids, smoothing out deep forehead wrinkles.
A brow lift is done on an outpatient basis under IV sedation or general anesthesia. There are several options for incision size and placement depending on your hairline and amount of lift needed. Dr. Sadati also uses advanced endoscopic techniques, through small hidden incisions in the scalp, to improve the eyebrows shape with natural results. He will explain which method is best for your particular situation during your consultation.
