Giving birth and nursing a baby can dramatically affect the way a women’s body looks. The natural added weight gain of pregnancy can be hard to lose and may settle in around the waist and hips.
A woman’s breasts can also be affected and may start to sag and stretch from nursing her baby. There may also be lasting stretch marks and extra skin as a result of carrying the baby that no amount of creams and care can eliminate. Because of this, Dr. Sadati has developed a set of cosmetic options called a mommy makeover that allow a woman to return to the youthful look she had before giving birth in a few simple office visits.
Because each woman will have different concerns about her body after pregnancy, there is no one right procedure for everyone. Dr. Sadati will spend the time needed with each patient to review their concerns and determine the best approach to resolve any cosmetic issues they have. Many of these procedures can be combined into a single office visit to allow for the quickest transition possible.
Liposuction is one of the procedures that is normally included in a mommy makeover and helps reduce the amount of residual fat from the waistline and hips. This process uses specialized techniques to reduce this stubborn layer of fat quickly and can help most women look considerably thinner in a single visit. Some of these natural fat deposits can be almost impossible to lose through dieting and exercise alone and a liposuction procedure can make all the difference in helping you look your best.
A breast lift is another popular procedure for new moms that can correct for sagging breasts that may develop after giving birth. Many times pregnancy and subsequent nursing can also reduce breast volume and position of the breasts and both of these can be corrected by a breast lift. After the procedure the patients breasts will sit higher on her chest in a more youthful and natural position.
A tummy tuck allows a woman to eliminate the excess skin that almost always results from pregnancy. As the baby matures, the skin around the abdomen stretches to accommodate its growth. After birth it can be hard for this skin to shrink back into shape and may leave a new mom with a small pouch of skin. Dr. Sadati can help eliminate this excess skin through a tummy tuck and leave a women with a tighter and more natural looking abdomen.
Dr. Sadati has been offering mommy makeovers in Orange County for a long time and has many satisfied patients.

What is a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is an individualized group of surgical procedures that reverses the physical changes associated with childbirth. Most commonly these are changes associated with the breasts (sagging, drooping and/or deflation) and the abdomen (a thicker waistline, love handles and/or sagging skin). The mommy makeover combines multiple procedures into a single day – which requires only one recovery period and hastens your physical transformation.
To have a mommy makeover, you must be at least six months post-partum. However a mommy makeover is not limited to mothers of toddlers! The effects of pregnancy don’t go away over time. Dr. Sadati regularly sees women in the 60’s and 70’s who are ready for a mommy makeover!
The benefit of a mommy makeover is that it is customized to meet your goals. Dr. Sadati wants to help you look and feel wonderful. While most women choose to focus on their breasts and abdomen, procedures that can be incorporated in your mommy makeover include:
- Facial rejuvenation. This is an opportunity to make your face look as young as your body. Dr. Sadati is the pioneer of the Natural Facelift — a unique facial muscle tightening surgery to make your face and neck look younger. He also offers non-surgical options (including injectables fat with PRP and dermal fillers) to reduce your signs of aging.
- Breast Augmentation. After childbirth, many women feel that their breasts look deflated. Breast augmentation can increase the size, shape and volume of your breasts. Dr. Sadati offers saline, silicone and cohesive gel implants that can fill out deflated breasts and create a more feminine silhouette.
- Breast Lift. When your breasts increase in volume to support breastfeeding, they become heavier and more likely to be stretched by gravity. A breast lift can remove excess breast tissue, reduce the size of the areola, and lift your breasts to create a more youthful contour.
- Breast Reduction. Increased breast volume during pregnancy puts a greater stress on your back. This is accentuated when you already have large breasts. Many women request a reduction mammoplasty to decrease neck pain and make their breasts more proportional to their body.
- Pregnancy leaves stubborn fat deposits that do not respond to diet or exercise. Dr. Sadati can use liposuction to permanently remove this excess fat and to contour your body.
- A small change to the bridge of your nose or your nostrils can bring harmony to your facial features. If you’ve been considering rhinoplasty, ask Dr. Sadati if it can be included in your mommy makeover.
- Tummy Tuck. It’s no secret that the muscles and skin on your abdomen stretch to accommodate your growing baby. Sometimes this stretching is permanent, especially if you’ve had multiple pregnancies. A tummy tuck will tighten your abdominal muscles, reduce excess skin, and possibly remove scarring and stretch marks.

Planning for your Mommy Makeover
A mommy makeover is a combination of major surgeries. Dr. Sadati recommends that you put your recovery first and seek the help you need. For up to six weeks after the surgery, you will have some restriction in movement and will not be able to lift more than ten pounds. You will need help with young children, pets, and household chores such as meal preparation and laundry.
You must plan to have someone to drive you home and stay with you for the first 48 hours after your surgery so that you can rest. If you have young children, you will need full-time assistance for at least two weeks following your surgery.

Dr. Sadati highly recommends icing surgical areas to reduce swelling. He also recommends a homeopathic remedy called Arnica Montana to help speed your healing process.
Because mommy makeovers are so customized, your recovery will also be unique. Dr. Sadati will advise you what to expect, when you can resume activities, and the length of time you will need to wear compression garment(s). Because you cannot lift more than ten pounds, you will need help with your children, pets and household chores.
Complications of a Mommy Makeover
Short-term risks of surgery include bleeding, infection and complications from general anesthesia.
Long-term complications depend on the procedure being performed. Dr. Sadati will thoroughly explain the risks of your mommy makeover procedures so that you can make an informed decision.
Many of the complications from your mommy makeover can be reduced by choosing a skilled surgeon, by providing a thorough medical history, and by carefully following Dr. Sadati’s instructions before and after your surgery.
