How Long Will My Breast Implants Would Last?
For many years, American women have been restricted to the types of implants they can have for their breast augmentation procedure. There have been only two: saline breast implants, and silicone gel implants. Well, there is a new implant in the U.S. market, and it's called the cohesive gel implant (AKA the Gummy Bear breast implant). If breast augmentation is in your future, you should learn all you can about this fantastic new implant
Orange County Plastic Surgeon:
Face lifting procedure remains the mainstay of surgical facial rejuvenation since sagging neck and jowls are primary motivations and concern for baby boomers to improve. As part of questions and concerns about a face lift, patients often ask how long it will last. With understandable concerns about cost effectiveness and the apprehension about another future surgery, the longevity question is a concern but not a primary fear of a facelift.
In the July 2010 issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr Michael Sundine et al reported on the longevity of a SMAS facelift procedure. Over a seven year period between 2001 and 2008, the authors looked at 42 patients who had both an initial and a secondary facelift procedure. Their assumption would be that the need for a secondary or revision facelift would mark how long the initial facelift lasted. The average age of the facelift patients was 50 years and that at the time of the secondary facelift 62 years. The report concluded that it is possible that the average facelift may last as long as 12 years. This paper presents a seemingly simple answer that would be undoubtedly satisfying to most patients. I don’t think there is any patient who believes that a facelift is permanent and most would accept a decade or so of facelift value. But, in reality, there are so many factors that play into how long a facelift lasts that a simple year value or range is overly simplistic…it may be comforting but can also be misleading. This Orange County patient in this before and after facelift picture is 8 weeks post op. She was recommended to our office by one of her friends. She did not want to have a traditional facelift that required general anesthesia and prolonged recovery. She preferred a face and neck lift under local anesthesia with oral sedation. Her expectations were realistic and she wanted a natural result. Dr. Sadati recommended a “Double C “lift technique to improve her lower face and neck laxity. Top Orange county face lift surgeon, Dr. Sadati is a board certified facial plastic surgeon in Newport Beach/Orange County who specializes in facial rejuvenation. He has performed thousands of facial procedures in his career. He travels across the country to lecture on his renowned “Double C” lift techniques to other face lift doctors. This revolutionary technique gives his patients a younger and more refreshed look without that ‘pulled’ or artificial look. His patients describe the positive responses of friends and co-workers who tell them that they ‘look great!’ Their friends often comment, ‘Love your new hair cut; it makes you look younger, or did you lose weight or did you go on a vacation?’

Your perfect body contours with implant or by fat grafting.
Modified From New You Magazine
Body contouring isn’t always a matter of nipping, tucking and trimming. Often it’s enhancement, not reduction, that we’re looking for, and, whether it’s adding some volume to that visage, a boost to those breasts or a curve to your bottom line, cosmetic surgery has full body options.
BREAST CHOICES
Cleavage woes? If you long for a more shapely bosom than was granted by Mother Nature, or for restoring the lift and shape diminished by Father Time, look no further than your local board-certified surgeon.
Options for augmentation generally include saline and silicone implants, both approved by the FDA and widely considered to be highly safe. Saline implants are made of an outer silicone elastomer shell filled with sterile salt water and, because they can be filled after being inserted, only a small incision is usually needed. Silicone is actually a gel, and though it requires a larger incision to place, proponents say that silicone implants feel more like natural breasts.
In choosing between the two alternatives, then, various pros and cons must be considered. Again, the first decision is where the incision will be made. Saline implants are first inserted then filled, which makes it possible to place them through incisions under the breast (inframammary), along the edge of the nipple (areola), in the armpit (transaxillary), or even through the navel (TUBA). On the other hand, silicone implants are pre-filled and may require a larger incision area, completely eliminating the bellybutton incision area from your list of choices.
