Restylane Facial Rejuvenation Products

Restylane offers a variety of dermal fillers. At Gallery Of Cosmetic Surgery we use Restylane’s products to help individuals in and around Orange County regain a more youthful appearance. Restylane products are used to correct folds, address age-related volume loss and smooth wrinkles. Using these innovative products, we are able to provide patients in Orange County with the natural-looking, rejuvenated appearance they desire.

The Restylane product recommended will depend on the issues the patient would like addressed.

Restylane Refyne: A Dermal Filler Offering Natural-Looking Results

One of the most recent additions to Restylane’s family of products is Restylane Refyne. This innovative new product provides patients with soft and flexible results, which means that facial movement following treatment appears very natural.

The benefits of Restylane Refyne:

When large volumes of the stiffer dermal fillers are used, they have a tendency to inhibit the flexibility of the face, which can affect an individual’s smile. However, Restylane Refyne was created to move effortlessly with the face. Restylane Refyne is extremely flexible, offering soft support.

Gallery Of Cosmetic Surgery patients like Restylane Refyne because it provides:

  • support;
  • lift;
  • long-lasting results; and
  • allows for natural-looking facial expressions.

Issues Restylane Refyne® Can Address

Restylane Refyne can address lines around the lips, which are frequently referred to as ‘smoker’s lines.’ Despite their name, these lines occur due to changes in the lower face. Therefore, even individuals who have never smoked can develop these lines as they age. The plump, full lips enjoyed during youth may also become a thing of the past. In addition, moderate to severe folds and wrinkles (i.e., nasolabial folds) become apparent as we age.

Although these changes may be difficult to contend with, the good news is that now all of these issues can be addressed with the revolutionary dermal filler Restylane Refyne. In addition, this dermal filler can be used in the lower portion of the face to eliminate lines, providing patients in Orange County with a beautiful, natural-looking result.

Who Should Consider Treatment with Restylane Refyne?

Anyone at least 21 years of age, who would like a younger, more refreshed appearance should consider scheduling an initial consultation with our office.

Who is a Good Candidate for Facial Rejuvenation with Dermal Fillers?

While most people who reside in and around Orange County are excellent candidates for facial rejuvenation procedures with Restylane Refyne, there are some factors that could require postponing treatment, or necessitate the use of a different facial rejuvenation product.

Factors requiring a postponement may include:

  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Planning to become pregnant and/or breastfeed in the near future
  • Injury to the skin of the area being addressed
  • Planning to undergo laser or chemical treatments

Individuals who are allergic to Lidocaine or the ingredients in the dermal filler itself are not good candidates for this procedure.

We also need to know the patient’s current medications, including blood thinners and immunosuppressive medication. Patients should be prepared to discuss any type of skin reaction that could cause an issue during treatment as well as whether or not they have a history of scarring.

Preparing for Restylane Refyne Injections in Orange County

For two weeks prior to the procedure, avoid using medications known to increase the amount of swelling and/or bruising experienced following dermal filler injections. These over-the-counter medications include ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E and any other medications known to thin the blood. Patients who are on prescription blood thinners should not discontinue taking this medication (or any other) without speaking to the provider who prescribes the medication in question.

Prior to arriving at the Gallery of Cosmetic Surgery, all makeup, moisturizers or other facial creams should be removed from the face.

Patients who have a history of developing cold sores in the area being treated should inform the injector of this prior to their treatment: This allows him to prescribe medication designed to prevent an outbreak following the procedure.

Treatment with Restylane Refyne in Orange County: What to Expect

Dermal filler treatments with Restylane Refyne are performed in the office and can be completed quickly (usually taking no longer than an hour). Due to the Lidocaine and the topical numbing agents used, patients remain comfortable throughout the procedure.

The areas being treated determine the number of syringes required. To provide the patient with the results he or she desires, Restylane Refyne is injected into the facial tissue. The depth of the injection (mid-to-deep) is determined by the areas being treated and the patient’s desired results.

Restylane Refyne Injections: The Procedure

  1. We will determine which areas are ideal for injection.
  2. The area(s) being treated are cleansed thoroughly.
  3. A topical anesthetic may be applied to numb the skin and ease any discomfort the patient may experience.
  4. After sterilizing the treatment areas, the Restylane Refyne will be injected.
  5. Once an injection is complete, the area may be sterilized again.

After the rejuvenation procedure is complete, the results are visible immediately. The enhancements achieved with Restylane Refyne can last up to a year. However, in order to maintain their results, we recommend that patients return every 6 to 9 months.

Recovering from Facial Rejuvenation Injections in Orange County

For the majority of patients, there is no downtime following injections with Restylane Refyne. However, patients should expect to experience some inflammation, redness and/or bruising. These symptoms usually last for at least 3 days, but could last up to 10 days, after the procedure. Symptoms a patient experiences after his or her Restylane Refyne treatment depends greatly on the number of injections received and the patient’s tendency to bruise.

At-Home care following facial rejuvenation injections:

  • Swelling and bruising can be reduced with the use of cold packs. Patients should apply cold packs to the areas treated for 15 minutes per hour (for several hours following the procedure). Keep in mind that ice should never be placed directly on the skin.
  • Patients should not massage or squeeze the treated areas, doing so could change the results achieved.
  • If the lips were treated, patients should use a couple of pillows to raise their head while sleeping. Elevating the head can help reduce inflammation of the lips.
  • Patients who have received dermal fillers in their cheeks must sleep on their back the night following their procedure.
